AIA Baltimore and BAF Chef Night Raises Funds for Programs and Scholarships

On April 23, AIA Baltimore and the BAF hosted the 2019 Chef Night where architects and A/E/C professionals square off in a culinary design competition.Dozens of attendees gathered to sample the culinary creations, bid on auction items, and mingle. Organized by the AIA Baltimore Allied Members Committee, it was the most successful chef night to date. The winning chefs were:
Best Appetizer: Ahi Tuna Poke Bowl by SM+P Architects (Brian Prichard, Assoc. AIA; Lindsey Brown, Assoc. AIA; Ariana Grieu; and Mary Weiss, AIA)
Best Entree: Pulled Pork Sandwiches by Quinn Evans Architects (Nichole McGuire and Joe Cellucci, AIA)
Best Dessert: Bougatsa by Baltimore Architecture Foundation (Dina Markakis and Jimmy Markakis)
People’s Choice: Pulled Pork Sandwiches by Quinn Evans Architects
Best Display: Ahi Tuna Poke Bowl by SM+P Architects
Proceeds of the event will be donated to AIA Baltimore and Baltimore Architecture Foundation scholarship programs for students of architecture at Morgan State University and Maryland community colleges and universities. Proceeds also support Future Architects Resources/Kids in Design programs for underserved middle and high school students to encourage career opportunities in architecture, design, and construction, and major BAF programs like Doors Open Baltimore.
