August 2019 President's Letter: We’re Excited for What’s Next – Congratulations!

I extend my congratulations to you, our AIA Baltimore members and Baltimore Architecture Foundation supporters, for our new Center for Architecture and Design. I am excited to see what you will have in store for our design community at large as our new Center opens in just a few months. Your support and reliable membership is what enabled us to get to this place. We of the leadership team—chapter staff, the board of directors, and committee chairs—heard your requests and took action.
I hope you had a chance to peruse the submissions made by the finalists of the Center’s design competition. We are fortunate to have great local talent. A shout out to RM Sovich Architecture, Ziger|Snead Architects, Hord Coplan Macht, and Quinn Evans Architects, each of whom presented considerate and creative proposals for our new Center for Architecture and Design
As an organization, AIA Baltimore is a creative connector and a strategic activator that serves as an agent of positive change, and we love what we do. When we are based downtown at One Charles Center, our presence and impact has the potential to increase hundredfold. If you would like to learn more, please do let us know and join us for a knowledge community meeting! Now is an exciting time to redouble your participation in the Chapter and our Foundation. We are always looking for dedicated AIA members to serve on our committees and on our Board of Directors.
New things are coming—get on board so that you won’t miss out! Thank you, and again, I send my biggest congratulations for our new Center for Architecture and Design!
All my best,

Suzanne Frasier, FAIA
