Hord Coplan Macht Expands Practice to Charlotte and Adds Veteran Senior Living Principal

Baltimore, MD (October 25, 2019) – Hord Coplan Macht (HCM) announces that it has expanded its services to Charlotte, North Carolina and added David Segmiller, FAIA, NCARB, as Principal.

Segmiller will be based in Hord Coplan Macht’s new office located in Charlotte, North Carolina, expanding the firm’s services to the Southeast region with practice areas in Healthcare, Senior Living, Higher Education, K-12 Schools, Housing and Mixed-Use.

He is a senior living expert specializing in designing facilities for an aging population. He has more than 30 years of design experience and has taught and lectured extensively on the topic at both national and local conferences. Segmiller has served as the Lead Instructor for Senior Living Development at the Erickson School for Aging Studies, and as adjunct faculty in the MS in Real Estate program at Johns Hopkins University. He has also served on the LeadingAge Business Firm Advisory Committee and many of his projects for seniors have received design awards from various industry award programs.

Segmiller has a Master of Science in Real Estate from Johns Hopkins University, a Master of Architecture from North Carolina State University and a Bachelor of Environmental Design from Miami University.
