Karow Joins Quinn Evans Architects as Director of Technical Services

Baltimore, MD (September 11, 2019) – Robert W. Karow, AIA, has joined Quinn Evans Architects as a senior associate and director of technical services. He will advise on projects nationwide, bringing more than 30 years of experience in the design of educational, government, and institutional facilities, as well as complex historic preservation projects.
Karow is skilled in project planning, staffing, quality control, and construction administration, with experience as an architect and project manager on many large-scale new construction and modernization initiatives. His portfolio includes the renovation of the Pentagon, the U.S. General Services Administration national headquarters, and the Pittsburgh Federal Courthouse.
“Bob’s comprehensive design and management experience has been put to the test on large, complex projects across our living, learning, culture, and heritage practice areas,” says Alyson Steele, AIA, LEED AP, executive vice president and chief design officer for Quinn Evans. “His expertise will enhance our project delivery from the earliest feasibility and conceptual phases through construction.”
Karow’s experience includes two years working for Quinn Evans Architects previously. During that time, he served as a senior project architect and construction administrator for the award-winning renovation of the Kennedy Center’s Concert Hall, and as project manager for the exterior renovation of the U.S. Treasury Building.
Karow holds a Master of Architecture (1986) from the University of Virginia and a Bachelor of Science in Architecture (1981) from Penn State University. He is a registered architect and a member of the American Institute of Architects.
