The AIA Baltimore Health & Wellness Committee is seeking entries from the design community for projects that speak to the idea of a healthy city or healthy environment. The promotion of good health comes in so many shapes and sizes and we want to celebrate them all. The 5th Annual Good Design = Good Health Showcase will take place on March 11, 6:00 – 8:00 pm at the BKM Offices.
We encourage architects, engineers, urban planners, landscape architects, interior designers, contractors, artists and others to show the local community how they’ve been creating healthy spaces. The theme of the showcase Good Design=Good Health paints a broad stroke of healthy design. Cities and communities that foster healthy living, mental well-being and social connectedness don’t just happen. It takes forward thinking and innovative designers to create spaces that elevate a community’s way of life.  And those spaces are brought to life by a diversity of professionals: The urban planner who designs new bike lanes throughout the city; the landscape architect’s healing garden for children; the contractor who brings the adaptive reuse vision to life; the architect whose school design becomes a community anchor.
The AIA Baltimore Health & Wellness Committee is interested in bringing members of the design community together with a new forum to showcase their designs with peers, while also being afforded the opportunity to observe the creative work of others.

Eligibility

Projects must have been designed or constructed within the past 3 years (2017-2020). Projects may be of any size or value.
Exhibition cost is $35 for AIA Baltimore members and $55 for non-members. Includes admission to the showcase event. Major Sponsors can exhibit up to 2 project boards and Sponsors can exhibit up to 1 project board.

Instructions

Purchase a ticket and submit the Exhibitor Form. A physical board must also be delivered to AIA Baltimore by March 6. Boards must conform to the template provided below. In addition, submissions must also include a 3 image slideshow of the project.
Submissions will not be accepted without payment for the proper ticket.
We encourage sponsors of the Good Design=Good Health: AIA Baltimore’s Health & Wellness 5th Annual Showcase to submit a board. Event sponsors can submit up to 1 complimentary project board. If you are a sponsor, please skip step 1.

In addition, boards are to be produced at the cost of the submitting firm and delivered to AIA Baltimore (11 ½ West Chase Street, Baltimore, MD 21201) by March 6.
Firms may make multiple submissions if interested.
