Press Release: Waldon Studio Architects Appoints Davin Hong as Principal in its Baltimore Office and Director of Innovation Firmwide

August 10, 2021 (Baltimore, Md.) – Waldon Studio Architects (WSA) has announced that Davin Hong has joined the firm as Principal and Director of Innovation.  Hong will help lead the firm’s Baltimore office while also leading and cultivating innovative design thinking firmwide.

Davin Hong, AIA, LEED AP, has over 25 years of experience spanning a wide range of project types. His award-winning portfolio includes local, regional, and international projects.  With his broad experience in federal, institutional, cultural, corporate and commercial projects, he will lead across sectors to further cement Waldon Studio Architects as a firm committed to service and creativity.

As Director of Innovation, Hong will apply his deep experience in design ingenuity to bring added value to projects for both their clients and communities.

“Davin’s world-class design experience in innovative projects is a tremendous complement to WSA’s team of architects,” explains Ravi Waldon, AIA, LEED AP, founder and principal at WSA. “We’re excited to have him play a leading role in design and planning firmwide as we continue to expand to meet the needs of our clients.”

Hong is recognized as a thought leader in architectural design and planning, engaging communities, government, and academia in the discourse of design and urbanism.  Most recently he was the Founder and Principal of Living Design Lab, an experimental design firm that explored the intersection of design excellence, invention, and public interest.

“As a designer,” Hong says, “I strive to approach every project as an opportunity for innovation, working closely with clients to find unexpected solutions that add meaningful and lasting value.  WSA’s passion for service and creativity really resonates with my sensibilities.  I am honored to join such a talented and dedicated studio of architects.”

In addition to Hong, WSA has added two new hires this year. A nationally recognized studio of passionate architects and creatives, the firm continues to expand its geographic footprint throughout the mid-Atlantic region and across the United States through its various practice areas.
