If you do not contact us at least 1 hour prior to the start of the program\, we cannot guarantee admittance. \nThe Baltimore Architecture Foundation (BAF) and Baltimore Heritage present the Virtual Histories Series: 30 minute live virtual tours and presentations focusing on Baltimore architecture\, preservation and history. Hosted every Friday at 1:00 pm EST. \nTickets are donation based. We encourage you to give what you can to support BAF\, Baltimore Heritage and the Anacostia Trails Heritage Area. Your support helps us make up for lost tour and program revenue from COVID-19 and create more virtual programs like this. \nThe Prince George’s County Civil Rights Trail is a hybrid online and sign trail tour that illuminates the most affluent African American majority county in the nation with a legacy of civil rights activism. It is a joint project of Anacostia Trails Heritage Area and the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission’s Black History Program with funding from the Maryland Heritage Areas Authority and the National Park Service. The project will include an interactive website\, the installation of on-site interpretive signage\, and educational workshops. Executive Director of Anacostia Trails Heritage Area\, Meagan Baco\, will share new research and archival photos from nine sites across the county\, including Bowie State University\, Laurel Municipal Pool\, Ridgeley Rosenwald School\, the Cole Field House at UMD\, and more during this Virtual Histories presentation. \nMeagan Baco (they/them) is Executive Director of Anacostia Trails Heritage Area\, Prince George’s County’s state-certified heritage tourism area. Previously\, Meagan was Director of Communications at Preservation Maryland where they managed diverse public history projects including about labor history\, women’s suffrage and voting rights\, and LGBTQ history. Meagan is a fellow of ARCUS Preservation Leadership and recently completed the Northwestern Kellogg Allstate Foundation Nonprofit Leadership Program. Meagan holds an M.S. in Historic Preservation from Clemson University and the College of Charleston\, and a B.A. in Environmental Design from SUNY Buffalo. They live with their partner and house plants in Charles Village. \nREGISTER HERE
