DESCRIPTION:Meg Fairfax Fielding will share some of the more unusual hospitals in Baltimore with images and stories.\n\n\n\nThis program is hosted on Zoom. If you do not contact us at least 1 hour prior to the start of the program\, we cannot guarantee admittance. \nThe Baltimore Architecture Foundation (BAF) and Baltimore Heritage present a series of 30 minute live virtual tours and presentations focusing on Baltimore architecture\, preservation and history. \nTickets are donation based. We encourage you to give what you can to support BAF and Baltimore Heritage. Your support helps us make up for lost tour and program revenue from COVID-19 and create more virtual programs like this. \nIn her position of Director of the History of Medicine in Maryland at MedChi\, The Maryland State Medical Society\, Meg Fairfax Fielding digs deeply into the organization’s archives and collections\, which date to its founding in 1799. Several years ago\, she began charting what is essentially a family tree of hospitals that operated in Baltimore\, which ones disappeared\, which ones merged\, and which still survive. In this virtual tour\, Meg will share some of the more unusual hospitals in Baltimore\, as well as a few we all know\, complete with historic engravings and photographs\, and maybe a few stories!
