Water penetration is responsible for many of the problems encountered in masonry walls today. The successful performance of a masonry wall depends on limiting the amount of water penetration and controlling any water that does enter the wall system. Water penetration resistance and control in brick veneer is the focus of this presentation.

Historic Belvedere Tour

The Belvedere Hotel
5:00 – 6:00 PM

The Belvedere Hotel is a Beaux Arts-style building in Baltimore, Maryland. Designed by the Boston architectural firm of Parker and Thomas and built-in 1902–1903, the Belvedere is a Baltimore City Landmark. Over the years the hotel has been converted into a multi-family residential condominium. The structure has suffered and has resulted in life safety issues. This tour is to provide continuity to façade repair programs in cities that do not have a façade ordinance and to review ways of establishing inspections and stabilization programs while in the design phase. – LIMITED CAPACITY

This course covers the essentials of selecting security bollards that provide adequate protection while adding exceptional aesthetic value to a project.
