Discoveries and Delights at the Walters Art Museum

Presented as part of Doors Open Baltimore 2020 Arts & Culture Week

This program is hosted on Zoom and Facebook Live. Upon registering you will receive an email confirmation and a Zoom link. If you do not receive a link, please contact ndennies@aiabalt.com. If you do not contact us at least 1 hour prior to the start of the program, we cannot guarantee admittance.

Situated in Baltimore’s Mount Vernon neighborhood, the Walters Art Museum houses a collection of about 36,000 objects and works of art spanning 55 centuries. This presentation will explore what Thomas Hoving, former director of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, once called “piece-for-piece, the best art museum in the entire United States”. Led by docent educators, view a sample of the discoveries and delights of our collection and learn more about Baltimore’s own Walters family. This one-hour virtual tour will include time for questions and discussion.
