A Dynamic Discussion on How Momentous Events of the 21st Century have shaped, and are shaping, the AEC Industry
Special guest speaker: Economist Anirban Basu
The 21st Century is only 24 years old, but already it has weathered two of the most significant events of the last 100 years, including the Great Recession and a global pandemic. During those times, architects and contractors alike had to quickly learn how to adapt, innovate, change directions, right-size or face extinction. And while there were certainly casualties, those times were marked by tremendous innovation and inspiring leadership as companies not only survived but have emerged stronger, and better equipped to face the challenges of the future.
During this unique event, we will hear from Economist Anirban Basu as he recounts the tumultuous times the industry endured during the 2008-2012 downturn and the COVID-19 pandemic. Anirban will then shift gears as he talks about how those times have left an indelible mark on the economy today and have changed how businesses think about how to navigate those challenges that are beyond their control.
