Madhuri Subramaniam, AIA

President

Madhuri Subramaniam, AIA, is a Project Director with HNTB where she serves as a senior project manager for a wide range of project types, including transportation, retail/commercial and infrastructure projects.

Madhuri has been actively involved in AIA Baltimore since 2005. She chaired the Emerging Professionals committee from 2006-2009, served as Associate Director on the AIA Baltimore Board between 2008-2009, and was awarded the Distinguished Service Award from the chapter in 2006 and 2009. Madhuri served as the co-chair of the ‘Canstruction’ committee and successfully hosted the 2017 event at BWI airport. She has also been on the AIA Baltimore Excellence in Design Awards Committee since 2005.

Outside of AIA, Madhuri served as secretary of the MDOT-MAA Green Team where she assisted to implement green and sustainable solutions at the airport. She also represented the company’s DE&I Council as one of its founding members at her previous firm. Recently, Madhuri was also featured in ‘Say It Loud Maryland’, an online exhibition platform spotlighting the contributions of diverse designers to Maryland’s built environment. Earlier this year, she was featured in the AIA National’s Future Focused video series and was also awarded the 2025 AIA Next to Lead scholarship. She holds a Bachelors of Architecture from Mumbai University, India, and has been working in the United States for the past 20 years. She lives with her husband and their 10 year old twins.
